JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC), is seeking a professional, skilled individual for a Site Manager position at the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM), located in Birmingham,AL The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the business, customer service, and financial aspects of the site.

Key Accountabilities

This position is responsible for all aspects of successful site management including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Establish priorities and goals (short and long term) in order to support the vision and strategic objectives of the Company
  • Manage, and adhere to, the requirements of the customer contract
  • Conduct relationship meetings with the Customer on a regular basis to:
    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Ensure that quality standards are being attained
    • Assess the potential for future work/sales
  • Manage and modify, as needed, the work processes and methods to meet contract and company objectives
  • Manage the day to day operational and administrative activities of the site:
    • Hiring/Recruitment
    • Personnel Relations
      • Training/Career development of staff
      • Performance evaluations
      • Disciplinary actions
      • Morale/ Motivation of staff 
    • Staff meetings
    • Work assignments
    • Adhere to company training programs
    • Adhere to applicable OSHA, state, local, and Company safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the site
  • Perform regular review of the financial reports for the site
    • Account receivables/payables
    • Capital expenditures
    • Payroll
  • Able to work a flexible schedule (the airport is a 24/7 operation)

Basic Requirements

The basic requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Minimum of a 4 year college degree in a business-related discipline and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience in a related field. 
    • Please note that these requirements may be superseded by higher contract requirements
  • Computer skills, with proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player and customer service-oriented
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) operation & maintenance
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
    • Supervisory experience in a service industry, or
    • Supervisory experience in an airport environment (preferred)
  • Project Management or Organizational Development Experience (documented)
  • Possess OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

This full-time, non-exempt position will be located on-site, at the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. Our team works various schedules as this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. The work week will be a schedule of 40 hours in total, with the shifts scheduled for either Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday. Shift assignments are determined based on the requirements of the airport and the company, together with a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our employees are expected to be flexible with regards to potential changes in shift assignments. All shift assignments will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug screening, a drivers' license check and validation, federal fingerprinting, and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.
