Sketch
Full-time
Remote
Netherlands, Netherlands

Over a million people use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products every day. Would you like to join us and help take this growing remote company to the next level? We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Operations team.

The role

In Accounting Operations, our primary responsibility is to accurately report the financial health of the business. This includes providing exhaustive, clear-cut data to external partners— such as various tax authorities — and internally to various peers and executives, to help them make informed decisions. At the same time, we are actively building out our operations infrastructure with new systems, processes and policies to keep the business running smoothly .

As a Senior Accountant, your focus will be on guaranteeing the accuracy of local subsidiaries’ books, ensuring financial and tax compliance, and performing accounts reconciliations.

The challenge

In the coming months, we’ll be improving our internal processes and working on fine-tuning our product offering to give our customers — both external and internal — the service they deserve. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new adventure, as well as personal and professional development.

We are a remote company, which has plenty of advantages — though it can be a challenge to keep up with our rhythm. Don’t worry though, we’ll help you feel like an integral part of the team in no time.

What you will do

  • Develop a complete understanding of our business model, accounting procedures and processes within the first 30 days

  • Understand and control the procurement policy, communicate with internal stakeholders, and ensure its correct application at all stages.

  • Review payroll schedules for different countries on a monthly basis, and liaise with external stakeholders

  • Lead the Month End Close process for our international subsidiaries (Spain, Portugal and UK), liaising with external consultants

  • Support compliance and tax filings for our international subsidiaries with a good understanding of VAT, CIT and management of deferred tax assets

  • Prepare and review schedules for the external annual audit

  • Identify and improve system efficiencies within our financial system of record, NetSuite

How we work

Sketch is a 100% remote company, and your colleagues are distributed around the globe. Being remote adds great flexibility and helps us build a more diverse team.

Besides being remote, we work asynchronously as often as we can. This means that our team communicates mostly using Slack. When we need it, we also have video calls.

The role will work closely with the greater operations team as well as the third-party providers assisting in our day-to-day operations. We work on everything from accounting operations to tax, compliance, and financial reporting.
