We are currently seeking a Production Manager located in Clinton, TN. 

Management Responsibilities:

Manages the Clinton report with the team of production supervisors in the department.

Carries out managerial responsibilities per the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Reports to Site Manager with all Production Supervisors reporting to this position. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The top responsibility of this role is ensuring employee safety. 
  • Strives to develop a world-class safety culture by collaborating with EHS staff to maintain a healthy and safe working environment that complies with all state and federal regulations.
  • Drives the development of a strong safety culture where employees follow established practices and proactively report identified hazards and concerns that will help us achieve an incident-free work environment.
  • Manages day-to-day production activities with a team of supervisors and process technicians to meet customer commitments.
  • Leads continuous improvement on the production floor through daily interaction with staff and the cultivation of ideas that improve efficiency and safety.
  • Conducts Gemba walks and job hazard analysis as part of the strategy to continually strengthen the safety culture.
  • Oversees the daily manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Leads the execution of continuous improvement projects and the utilization of metrics to drive performance.
  • Develops an environment of teamwork and a focus on achieving results within the team and across peer groups by conducting team resource planning, staffing, training, communication, and performance management.
  • Investigate non-conformances and complaints and use problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis to identify and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Deliver effective change leadership to support business changes that provide strong support to the sales team.  Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods and developments in technology and equipment and applies this knowledge to enhance the company’s competitive edge.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing costs, and production variances.
  • Collaborates with counterparts at other sites to accelerate solution development, share best practices and increase OEE.
  • Ensures the right people and resources are in place and optimally allocated to achieve results.
  • Applies knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and use of Lean tools to drive out waste in the process and increase capacity.
  • Identifies training opportunities to build and enhance staff skills that increase operational flexibility in production.
  • Develop strong relationships with staff members and provide open and clear feedback to improve individual and team performance.
  • Effectively works with Scheduling and Customer Care to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Works closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and in the execution of capital improvement projects and best practice development.
  • Delivers monthly progress reports on manufacturing KPI’s ensuring safety, quality, financial and delivery goals are met.
  • Assists Site Operations Manager with the identification, justification, and implementation of capital projects to increase capabilities and efficiencies using new and advanced technology.

Basic Qualifications:        

  • BS in engineering field is preferred or
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or engineering management experience.

Skills/Abilities

  • Skilled in data analysis using Power BI, Excel, or other tools to measure and manage performance to goals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • High degree of organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven Leadership and team-building skills
