PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.  

  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.

  • Maintains correctly balanced inventory levels on all purchased material and supplies to prevent out of stock conditions and cash flow problems relating to inventory.

  • Forecasts level of monthly shipments, finish and Past Due.

  • Generates plan to achieve budgeted ship and finish goals.  Runs meetings, etc. to accomplish this.  

  • Guarantees a continuous inventory supply, establish and maintains proper levels of inventory turns, and controls the level of backorders.

  • Forecasts inventory levels to anticipate inventory levels and cash flow needs.

  • Works closely with Marketing and Sales to properly forecast new product timelines and sales.

  • Develop and provide leadership to the Planning personnel in effectively utilizing MRP, MPS and availability in the supply chain.

  • Assist Purchasing personnel in enhancing their negotiating skills with the objective of continuous improvement in product cost, quality and delivery, and in developing long term supplier relationships and capabilities.

  • Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, outside services, as well as coordinating global procurement efforts.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of the solutions to problems potentially affecting the flow of material and support of customers.

  • Coordinates with accounting on matters involving inventory, costs and quantities.

  • Play major role in the enhancement of improved communication and smooth interface between departments and individuals regarding plans, programs or problems. 

  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

    • MRP (supply/demand process)

    • JIT/Lean manufacturing knowledge and implementation skills

    • APICS or CPIM certification a plus

    • Personal Computer skills
