The Role

What we’re looking for in the ideal candidate:

Design Shifu is looking for an experienced SEO manager with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Being an on-demand subscription-based design company, our business model is heavily dependent on in-bound leads that come through search, social & paid mediums of which search is currently and will in the near future need to be the most dominant source of generating inbound traffic leading to marketing qualified & sales qualified leads.

• Managing website content

• Negotiating backlinks
• SEO strategy
• Campaign organization and planning
• Website monitoring and user analysis
• Perform keyword research and competitive market analysis
• Implement technical SEO audits and changes
• Execute on-page optimizations
• Manage content production by planning content calendars, managing writers (or collaborating with content writing teams), and supporting them with topics which are SEO friendly.
• Devise and execute methods to track, report, analyse and improve SEO performance
• Collaborate with other in-house marketing team members
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to implement necessary updates and edits to building the website authority.
• Present and communicate SEO strategies and projects to internal stakeholders
• Serve as the key SEO expert/advocate
• Keep up-to-date with latest SEO trends, strategies and algorithm changes
• Develop large-scale programs to grow our SEO practice and drive core business metrics
• Ranking & Keyword Management and Analysis: Produce high-level keyword analysis while tracking, managing and distributing daily and weekly organic rankings. Candidate should also have awareness of different search engines as well as personalized and local search.
• Analysis of Natural Search Metrics: The SEO Manager will need to use their analytical skills to report natural search numbers across different analytical platforms and present a weekly and monthly report.
• SEO Strategy Expert with Efficient Execution: Apply the best content strategies from a natural search perspective to clearly indicate to the user and the search engine bots what our pages are about. This would include optimization of on-page and off-page copy, as well as image, video, social, and local initiatives.
• In-Depth Competitor Analysis: Analyze an extremely competitive marketplace and take note of trends in the space.
• Advanced Blog Management & Content Creation: Brainstorm unique blog ideas for seasonal and everyday occasions, coming up with engaging blog topics, proofread existing blog posts, and publish blog posts using WordPress.

Ideal profile:
• Content: Your understanding with regard to content marketing is a must as it is a tactic that goes hand in hand with SEO. Demonstrating you can handle both is a must. Aa an SEO Manager you will need to be experienced and capable to handle keyword research, campaign planning, overseeing quality content, content distribution, and analysis / reporting.

• Data Analysis: SEO Managers will have to be able to analyze their own data in order to creative and present weekly / monthly reports on progress. You will need to benchmark your performance and show clear results that you are improving rankings and taking advantage of areas to improve.

• Branding: Understanding and following the brand guidelines will be a key factor in getting people to engage with your content and to get people to take the required action in the form of downloading assets etc

• People Skills: You have to demonstrate people management skills, and more specifically, your ability to manage people across all levels. It’s all about dynamics, optics, and politically correct communication. You have to manage expectations and motivate and persuade without alienating any major players. In this role, you will need people at high levels onside to get your plan into action.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience working in content driven SEO
• Relevant software & tools knowledge (SEMRush, Google Keyword planner etc)
• Up to date with software and technologies.
• Strong communication and project management skills required.
• Ability to interact, communicate and present original ideas.
• Good understanding of SEO best practices
• Passion for SEO and internet marketing
• Ability to create, justify, communicate and implement SEO strategies across teams
• Data-driven and analytical mindset
• Attention to detail
