Summary


Performs ongoing facility maintenance and completes repairs on equipment.   


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Performs and maintains facilities maintenance needs.

  • Ensures the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner prior to, and following work shift.

  • Surveys condition of premises and equipment and reports needed repairs, safety hazards or conditions requiring outside vendor services.

  • Completes maintenance forms, work order signoffs and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Identifies/tags equipment and components as well as other company items for safe and secure storage

  • Ensures that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.

  • Collects and disposes of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and other hazmat items, as required.

  • Keeps all work areas clean and organized, cleaning as you go.

  • Uses and maintains company-provided tools and equipment. Returns items to designated storage area after use.

  • Follows building and property security procedures.

  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification


Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years’ experience preferred.


 


Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.


 


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write and speak).

  • Ability to understand the methods, techniques and practices outlined on the manufacturers’ maintenance documents, specifications, and other data acceptable to maintain the facility and tooling.

  • Displays good communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Basic mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.

  • Basic knowledge of building HVAC and plumbing.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Ability to select and work with proper tools for job task.

  • Possession of a valid state of Texas driver license.

  • Ability to work well independently.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Ability to work overtime as required.



Physical Requirements



  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.

  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance/able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

  • Able to reach overhead.

  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.

  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).

  • Full range of motion with both hands.

  • Can work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
