We are seeking an experienced and creative Associate Creative Director - Copy to join the team. The ideal candidate will be a talented wordsmith who can lead a team of copywriters to develop and execute compelling copy that engages and inspires our target audience. As an Associate Creative Director - Copy, you will work closely with the creative, account management and other cross-functional teams to develop marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including digital, print, and social media.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of copywriters to develop and execute high-quality copy that aligns with our brand voice and messaging across a range of marketing materials including email campaigns, website copy, social media posts, advertising copy, and other collateral.
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop and execute campaigns that engage and convert our target audience.
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines for voice and messaging, ensuring that all copy is on brand and on message.
- Provide guidance and feedback to junior copywriters, ensuring that all copy is of the highest quality and meets the needs of our clients.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and that copy is delivered on time and on brief.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure that our copy is relevant and effective.
- Conduct research on target audiences to better understand their needs, wants, and pain points, and to craft a copy that speaks to them.
- Work closely with other cross-functional teams, to ensure that copy is aligned with the overall marketing strategy.
- Manage the creative process from concept to finish on campaigns/pitches with a team of copywriters
- Manage the copy mandate for a pod of writers which involves mentoring, delegating and driving a high-level output
- Work closely with the creative director to set the creative vision and its deployment amongst your team
- Proactively drive initiatives like training or feedback sessions to upskill the teamΒ
- Contribute to maintaining a positive team culture
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 6-8 years of experience in copywriting or content marketing, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates exceptional writing skills and creativity
- 1-2 years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of copywriters.
- Strong understanding of content marketing on social media, SEO, and digital marketing best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write in a variety of styles and formats
- Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit own work and the work of others
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketing managers
- Experience leading a team of 5-7 copywritersΒ
